12.1 What is a Publisher Pitch?

What a Publisher Pitch is — a publisher bringing an editorial opportunity directly to your brand — and how it differs from a standard campaign.

Written by Meesha Price

Most Linkby campaigns start with you. You build the brief, set the budget and invite publishers, and they decide whether they want in.

A Publisher Pitch runs the other way. A publisher develops an editorial idea, decides your brand is a good fit for it, and brings the opportunity directly to you. You then decide whether you want to take part.

How it's different from a standard campaign

Standard campaign

Publisher Pitch

You identify the opportunity

The publisher identifies the opportunity

Publishers evaluate your brief

You evaluate the publisher's pitch

You set budget and CPC

The publisher proposes budget and CPC — you can accept, counter or decline

You still hold the commercial decision

Publisher-led doesn't mean publisher-controlled. You see the concept, proposed budget, CPC and timing before anything is agreed, and nothing is committed until you accept.

Publisher Pitches don't replace your regular campaigns. They're a second route to the same place — editorial coverage you can measure.
