12.5 What information is included in a Publisher Pitch?

What you'll see on a Publisher Pitch — publisher, editorial concept, content type, targeting, budget, CPC, campaign period and acceptance deadline.

Written by Meesha Price

Open a pitch from Awaiting Acceptance and you'll get the full opportunity in one place.

What's on the pitch

  • The publisher, and their details

  • The editorial concept and full pitch description

  • Proposed content type

  • Targeting

  • Proposed budget and CPC

  • Campaign period

  • Acceptance deadline

  • Suggested product links, where the publisher has included them

What's not decided yet

Most of the commercial detail is a proposal. If the concept works but the numbers or the campaign period don't, you can counter rather than decline. The acceptance deadline is the exception — that's set by the publisher and can't be changed.

A note on budget

The publisher sets the proposed budget when they create the pitch, based on the opportunity they have in mind. It won't always match what you'd normally spend with that title, in either direction.

You'll always know who's pitching

The publisher is named from the outset. You'll know which title has approached you before you make any decision — there's no anonymous or masked version of a pitch.
